Kari is a corporate and commercial lawyer and focuses on helping businesses of all sizes negotiate commercial agreements to protect and grow their business. Kari also has experience in several areas such as negotiating and advising on agreements for operations, strategic joint venture arrangements, distribution arrangements, technology licensing, franchise agreements, brand protection and strategy, as well as compliance with regulatory matters for advertising, marketing and privacy.
Kari advises clients on corporate governance and strategic matters, and sits on the Board for the Lindsay Park Sports Society which oversees the operation of Repsol Sport Centre. Kari is also a Board Member of Social Venture Partners Calgary, which provides capital and pro bono professional services to the non-profit sector.
Kari joined Greenfields Law in 2017. She practiced at Borden Ladner Gervais and then spent nine years as in-house counsel at Shell Canada for its downstream and alternative energy businesses. Kari became General Counsel for a publicly traded fast-growth enterprise until its sale and then joined the deal team at TransCanada for its major infrastructure projects. Kari spent two years in London, UK, negotiating and advising on cross border supply, distribution and services matters for BP International and Compass Group PLC.
